Code of Conduct

As a MENGO member organisation, we will

  • Endeavour to participate in all the activities organised under the MENGO project. Attendance is compulsory for the Annual MENGO Meeting/Workshop and at least one other activity within a calendar year.

  • Avoid situations in which personal interests and gains may be advanced at the expense of project, its members, environment and society at large.

  • Ensure that actions and decisions are determined solely by sound professional practice; realising that MENGOs should not profit from their MENGO membership other than by the standard funds provided for the project activities.

  • Strive for excellence in the profession by maintaining and enhancing their knowledge and skills, and keeping abreast of developments related to the environment.

  • Uphold the principle of intellectual freedom and allow all members to have free and equal access to sources of information without discrimination.

  • Treat MENGO fellow members with respect, fairness and goodwill.

  • In the service of society, not discriminate on the grounds of socio-economic status, politics, race, colour, creed, gender or sexual orientation.
