From the interviews conducted by the earlier mission, it was found that although MENGOs are sometimes driven by different objectives, there exist a number of common goals which at times draw them to co-operate with one another to achieve the desired result. Most of the organisations aim:

• To increase environmental awareness in the Malaysian society

• To promote activities that help preserve the environment

• To prevent the further degradation of the environment

• To enjoy the environment through non-destructive activities

• To encourage and develop policies to support a sustainable development
