Objectives

SWCS’s mission is to ensure protection and wise use of all wetlands through education, research and advocacy by:

• Promoting the conservation of wetlands in Sabah and the variety of plants, birds and other kinds of living organisms found in them.

• Raising public awareness and appreciation of wetlands and public involvement in protecting wetlands.

• Managing Kota Kinabalu Wetland Centre as a model wetland centre for the purpose of conservation, education, recreation, tourism and research.

SWCS’s goal is "Conservation and Sustainabale Management of Sabah wetlands."

• Scientific field research.

Area of Interest

Conservation issues relating to wetlands such as protection, restorations and rehabilitations, wise management of wetlands and creating awareness on the important roles these wetlands play as one of the most productive and biologically diverse ecosystems on earth.
